Indigenous Austrian grape variety, after handpicking and 12 days on the skins then aged in large used oak, Iro’s Zweigelt features typical dark cherry notes, forest berries, liquorice and spices, juicy and elegant and rounded off with fine tannins.
Blaufränkisch 7301, Kirnbauer:
The rare Blaufränkisch grape thrives in Mittelburgenland – black currant, red cherry and blackberry on the nose, thyme and clove on the palate. 16 months ageing in barrique softens the tannins and contributes to the harmonic finish. The number 7301 refers to the postcode of the Kirnbauer’s. One of our wine buyer’s favourite reds! Enjoy with venison or a good steak.
St. Laurent Classic (Fischer)
Another uniquely Austrian grape variety, related to the Pinot family. Ruby red, with notes of blueberries and prunes, smooth and chocolatey finish, organic. From the famous red wine village Soosz south of Baden bei Wien. Wonderful with roast chicken.
